Keep awake devices and battery usage

Keep awake devices: Comma-separated list of names of devices to keep awake when GPS is running. Enlist device names such as GPS0 or GPS0:. Colon-terminated devices will be kept awake only during GPS cycle; other devices will be kept for whole time when GPSTracka is logging. Unknown devices are skipped. When not using Windows GPS diver, the COM port is kept awake automatically for whole time when GPSTracka is logging.

Is it really required to keep the device awake, doesnt windows driver manage this operation. In case of phones with buitin GPS, the COM port assigned by windows driver when opened wouldn't it be managed by Windows?

Please can you add some clarity in the help page on how this setting can save battery when using COM or windows driver mode?

Hi thoq, those colon appended device names were added so that external devices could be used with the app.  I'll add some info to the help page about this.
